Three things determine what is created in our kitchen — and what we prefer to leave out.

Seasonal & regional

Asparagus from Hesse in spring, chanterelles in summer, goose from November. Herbs for Green Sauce from small nurseries in the surrounding region — never farther away than necessary.

Craftsmanship instead of hocus-pocus

Green Sauce made from fresh herbs, cabbage pickled in-house, broths simmered for hours. No packets, no powder — even if that sometimes takes a moment longer.

You don’t have to decide — just ask us. Our service team recommends what is especially good every day and is happy to adapt dishes on request.

Where can I find allergen and additive information?
We include all labels in the printed menu at the table — and our chefs know every ingredient. Let us know when ordering; we often adapt dishes or find a safe alternative. Feel free to note it in advance when reserving.
Do you have vegetarian and vegan dishes?
Yes. Vegetarian throughout (Frankfurt Green Sauce, Maultaschen, Handkäs’, salads). Vegan options on request — the kitchen will gladly put something together for you, best mentioned briefly when ordering.
Can I order dishes to take away?
Yes, many of our classics are also available for pickup. Simply order by phone or via our service world – fresh from the kitchen, in proper packaging.
Do I need a reservation?
Spontaneous visits almost always work — with 280 seats, we usually find something. For guaranteed seats, especially Friday to Saturday evenings, it’s better to reserve online or by phone.
Do you put together a custom menu for larger groups?
Very gladly. From 10 people, we briefly coordinate with you in advance; from 16 people, we recommend it. Simply write to us at wirtshaus@amhuehnermarkt.com — the kitchen prepares everything.
